A few of the more popular neighborhoods include Casa Linda/Casa View, which is a mature neighborhood with single-family homes as well as apartments and duplex rentals.
Another neighborhood is East Dallas, which was established in 1882. This area continues providing single-family homes and condominium rentals. North Dallas is definitely a suburban area, with newer housing, which is immaculately maintained.
Forest Hills, Little Forest Hills, and Hollywood Heights are three areas that are beautifully enriched with towering trees. Although housing in this area is upper scale, there are some nice cottages and rentals tucked in among the larger homes.
One other area, Northeast Dallas and White Rock Area are best known for the variety of apartment complexes, which has grown significantly and continues to be a favorite among renters.
Searching for a location to build a trading post, John Neely Bryan chose some land in 1839. He went to his home state of Arkansas to finalize business and when he returned to Texas to build his trading post, a treaty had been signed forcing all Indians out of this new land, which were half of John Bryan's customers.
Upset, he turned his attention to creating a permanent community instead of a trading post. Word quickly leaked out about this new city, drawing in settlers eager to make "Dallas" their home. In 1849, the population was 430 people. Today, that number has increased to 1,052,300 in the immediate area and close to 5 million in the surrounding areas, including Fort Worth.
Dallas offers all four seasons. During the winter,
temperatures can drop as low as 10 degrees while the summer months are quite
warm, averaging between 90 and 100 degrees.
